Dear Hope Clients, Caregivers, and Families,
At Hope Services, we are committed to providing you with regular updates as we go through this COVID-19 pandemic together. As Santa Clara, San Mateo, Santa Cruz, Monterey, Alameda and San Benito counties continue to ask the public to follow shelter-in-place, physical distancing and face covering measures, other restrictions have and continue to be lifted for the general public. However, for many of our clients at Hope services, a higher level of safety is required since many have underlying health issues and are older. For some of our clients social distancing is not possible and require personal assistance.
Our dedicated staff are committed to providing the client care needed to maintain a safe and clean environment.
How are we getting ready at Hope services?
Distance Learning: Our own Manager of Learning Services & Products Tahiya Marome and her very talented team, developed a remote distance learning program, which has been approved by the San Andreas Regional Center. Clients are being asked if they would like to participate in the remote learning program. The program will start to be rolled out in the next several weeks.
Returning to Work and Opening of Our Programs: The Hope services leadership team is working closely together to provide a safe and comfortable process to returning to the workplace. We are working within the CDC guidelines in prioritizing the safety of staff and clients. The physical layout of our facilities are in process of being altered to maintain the required social distancing. While we are working on getting ready to transition our staff, our commitment to providing all of our program services, serving our clients and supporting our staff remains our priority.
Transportation: We are currently testing larger vehicles (vans) so we can maintain social distancing. The current Hope services fleet does not accommodate the CDC social distancing requirements.
In Concert with Hope: Since Santa Clara county has restricted gatherings, in particular concerts and sporting events, we have decided to cancel our benefit concert on October 3rd, which was to be held at Villa Montalvo. We are currently looking at the option of having a pre-recorded/virtual concert. A huge thank you goes out to our sponsors who have given us $335,000 so far.
Thrift Stores: The three Thrift stores are now open for business and accepting donations. Please check our website for hours of operations.
We may look different as we open back-up our operations but one thing will never change is our dedicated staff, who are committed to providing the quality services you have known over the years.
We will communicate with you as soon as the Regional Centers inform us that we are approved to open our day programs. The Distance Learning Program will start in the next several weeks. We have created a comprehensive COVID-19 Exposure Control Plan to guide and safeguard our staff and clients, which you can download here.
I wish you all good health and safety.
