For more than three decades, Hope Services has supported Lisa as her needs and goals have evolved — from employment services and job coaching that helped her build a 23-year career at West Marine, to the support she now receives in retirement through Hope’s Aptos Senior Inclusion Center.

Lisa has endured profound loss, including the passing of her parents, immediate family members, and Philip, her longtime partner. Through it all, she has continued moving forward — living independently in the home she grew up in, finding new love, and volunteering weekly with Meals on Wheels to support homebound seniors.

At the Senior Center, Lisa is often the first to volunteer for the party committee, the loudest voice at Wednesday karaoke, and one of the warmest smiles in the room. She still keeps a bucket list: another drive down 17-Mile Drive, a pie from Gizdich Ranch, a stroll on the beach, and another reason to sing.

When asked what Hope has helped her with most, Lisa’s answer was simple: “My goals.”
