For more than 70 years, Hope Services has been transforming lives and building more inclusive communities. Today, as the largest and most comprehensive provider of services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and mental health needs across the nine-county Bay Area, Hope supports thousands of individuals and families through innovative programs, employment services, behavioral health, community living, and social enterprises.

Hope Services is seeking an experienced, visionary, and mission-driven Chief Executive Officer to guide the organization into its next chapter of growth and impact. Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the CEO will lead a nearly 600-person organization with a $67 million operating budget, overseeing programs, partnerships, advocacy efforts, fundraising, and strategic initiatives that advance Hope’s mission throughout California.

The Opportunity

  • Serving as Hope’s chief advocate and spokesperson
  • Building trust with long-tenured staff while leading thoughtful change
  • Advancing participant outcomes through data-driven decision making
  • Supporting policy and advocacy efforts that improve opportunities for people with disabilities and mental health needs

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a collaborative and inspirational leader with both the executive expertise and emotional intelligence necessary to lead a complex, mission-driven organization.

Candidates should possess:

  • Significant executive leadership experience within a nonprofit or similarly complex organization
  • Demonstrated success managing large budgets, diverse programs, and multi-site operations
  • Experience working closely with boards of directors and senior leadership teams
  • A strong track record in fundraising, partnership development, and external relations
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills
  • A commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and person-centered services
  • A passion for improving the lives of individuals with disabilities and mental health needs

Compensation

Hope Services offers a competitive compensation package, including an annual salary range of $325,000–$375,000, commensurate with experience, plus comprehensive benefits.
