Corey
Homestart
“At 12 months, Corey had no words. He wasn’t walking. He would learn skills and then forget them. So then what goes through your mind is, ‘what’s his future going to look like?’ So when you have somebody helping you, I don’t think people realize how big of a deal that is. In the past year with Hope, he’s learned a lot and grown in the social aspect, with eye contact and signing.”

Idean
EMCC Media Program
“When I came to Hope in 2019, I discovered my passion for media. The EMCC media classes gave me the skills I needed to interview people in my community. I’ve been a part of multiple media crews and interviews, and even got to share my story in front of 250 people at the Legislative Luncheon. One of my most favorite memories so far was interviewing the Mayor of Santa Cruz this year. My dream is to continue in media and to one day interview the President of the United States.”

Carol
Senior Activity Center
“I was in another program before I transferred to the Hope Senior Activity Center. I was uncertain of my new surroundings, so I was very shy and withdrawn. I didn’t want to participate or interact with anyone for a long time. But the instructors and other clients would always encourage me, and this built up my confidence. Now I kick that soccer ball and toss those horseshoes with the best of them. I have new friends and I let them know now that I can do my own bingo.”
Over $870,000 raised at
The 5th Annual In Concert With Hope
The Mountain Winery provided an unforgettable backdrop for the 5th anniversary of In Concert with Hope, a milestone event which raised over $870,000 to support Hope Services’ mission. The sold-out event on June 16th was hosted by Master of Ceremonies, Dennis McNeil, and showcased performances by funk-rock legends, Tower of Power, and two-time Grammy-nominated saxophonist, Mindi Abair.
Event proceeds are bolstering children’s services, access to mental healthcare, community employment, supported living, and more. In five years, the event has raised over $3 million in critical funding, a result that could only be achieved with the unwavering support of our community. Thank you to all attendees, donors,
sponsors, and partners for making this incredible night possible.
