I am honored to share with you the results of a historic year of growth, continued innovation, and reconnecting with clients and staff. This year’s highlight was the planning and eventual partial reopening of our Day Programs. The complete joy of staff welcoming client’s back home to their Day Programs was amazing to witness and we will continue to open all programs to 100% over the next several months.
The deep connection between our staff and our clients is the driving force behind our success. I am so grateful for all of our hard-working staff and especially the staff providing essential services in Homestart, Supported Living, Community Employment and the Counseling Center since the beginning of the pandemic crisis. I am inspired by the compassion, care, and dedication demonstrated by all of our teams, and by the impact we are having in the lives of those we serve during this time of crisis.
Despite the continued pandemic, we achieved historical fiscal results for 2020/2021. At no time in Hope Services’ 69-year history has the organization generated net income of over $5 million (see the following pages for more details). And just around the corner, we are very excited to celebrate Hope Services 70th anniversary starting in February of 2022.
I also want to give a special thanks to our sponsors, donors and Board of Directors for another successful In Concert with Hope generating over $620,000. These much-needed funds will go to three excellent programs: Homestart, Counseling Center and Tailored Day. Over the last three years, we have raised approximately $1.6 million in donations and are beginning to plan for our 4th Annual at Villa Montalvo in Saratoga on Saturday, July 23rd!
Finally, I want to thank you once again for sticking with us during this time. As unprecedented as these past 19+ months have been, I am proud to lead this organization, and I am grateful to our strong and caring community. Stay well and be safe.

Mental Health Symposium
Over 300 attendees joined Hope Services and partners from over twenty intellectual and developmental disability (I/DD) and mental health organizations throughout the Bay Area for a symposium focused on the specific needs of people with I/DD co-occurring with behavioral health disorders. Hope Services is proud to sponsor the symposium, and provide a vital resource for our community.
From Hope To Home™
From Hope to Home™ has continued to operate as an innovative and creative learning space for our clients during the COVID19 pandemic. The program continues to host hundreds of participants each day, ranging from 300-500 clients per day. Clients have expressed continued satisfaction with the program and From Hope to Home is now proving to be a more permanent delivery model for those who desire this type of learning platform.
Events and Fundraising
Our largest fundraiser of the year, this year’s In Concert with Hope sold 800 tickets, and raised over $620,000! On Saturday, October 2nd sponsors, partners, supporters, clients and families from all over the United States accessed their unique URL to watch the livestreamed event featuring five-time GRAMMY award winner Michael McDonald and two-time GRAMMY nominee jazz saxophonist Mindi Abair.
