Every year, the Disability.gov team introduces creative ways to help people with disabilities and their loved ones find the information they need quickly and efficiently – without the headache of searching on numerous sites. After all, the mission of Disability.gov has always been to connect people of all abilities to the programs and services they need to fully participate in their communities. Essentially, Disability.gov is a huge directory of resources from government agencies, academic institutions and nonprofit organizations.

Californiaʼs Adults with
Autism/DD and the New Medicaid HCBS Rules

The federal Medicaid Home and Community Based Services (“HCBS”) program helps to fund much of our residential and nonresidential regional center services for adults with autism and other developmental disabilities (“DDs”). This program is very important because it helps Californiaʼs Department of Developmental Services (“DDS”) fund services in the home and community to those who would otherwise require services at an institutional level of care.

Title VI Complaint Procedure and Forms

As a recipient of federal dollars, Hope Services is required to comply with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and ensure that services and benefits are provided on a non-discriminatory basis. Hope Services has in place a Title VI Complaint Procedure, which outlines a process for local disposition of Title VI complaints and is consistent with guidelines found in the Federal Transit Administration Circular 4702.1B, dated October 1, 2012. Any person who believes she or he has been discriminated against on the basis of race, color, or national origin by Hope Services may file a Title VI complaint by completing and submitting the agency’s Title VI Complaint Form.

Rotary Children’s Garden Committee

The Rotary Children’s Garden is the 100 Year Legacy Project of the Rotary Club of San Jose. The project grew out of the club’s desire to provide a play experience in San Jose where all children, regardless of their abilities, can play together side by side.
